25th J P Atray tournament concluded, DGP Haryana inaugurated the Final

Chandigarh, Sept 10 – Haryana Director General of Police, Mr Manoj Yadava said that the All India J.P. Atray tournament has been playing a major role in the promotion of sports culture especially the cricket across the country.

Mr Yadava was speaking after inaugurating the final match of ‘25th All India J.P. Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament’ played between Punjab Cricket Association and PCA Colts at Sector-16, Cricket stadium here today.

On this occasion, he also commended the organizers and added that it is a significant platform to provide opportunities to the young players of the country to showcase their talent. He said that Haryana Police sportspersons has also brought laurels to the State by exhibiting excellent performance in recently conducted World Police and Fire Games in China.

The DGP also interacted with the players and wished them good luck for the future.

A total of 16 teams from different States including four players of Indian Cricket Team participated in the tournament. The opening ceremony of the championship was held on September 1, 2019. Mr Yuvraj Singh was the Chief Guest that day.

It may be mentioned here that the tournament is organized every year under the aegis of Punjab Cricket Association in the memory of late Sh J.P. Atray IPS former ADGP Haryana.

Besides a huge gathering of sports lovers, former senior bureaucrat and Convener of All India J.P. Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament, Mr Vivek Atray, Organising Secretary, Mr Sushil Kapoor, Technical Secretaries Mr Amarjit Kumar and Mr Arun Kumar were also present on this occasion.
