Chandigarh/ December 3: Haryana Governor Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya described Kurukshetra as a spiritual, religious and educational center and said that people consider themselves blessed by applying the dust of this great land on their forehead.
Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya was speaking as the Chief Guest in the 4th International Seminar on Universal Welfare and the Eternal Philosophy of Bhagavad Gita organized as part of International Gita Mahotsav at the Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Sadan, Kurukshetra University in Kurukshetra today.
While congratulating the people on this occasion, he said that Kurukshetra is famous all over the world as Tapo-sthali, Karma-Bhoomi, and Yag-Bhoomi of saints and gurus. He said that Gita is a religious scripture which is based on rituals. Lord Krishna gave the message of Vasudhaiva Kutambakam in the Gita. This message is a philosophy of Nishkam Karma, which is the basis for the advancement of every living being, society, and nation, he added. He said that even Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had assimilated the message of Vasudhaiva Kutambakam of the Gita. Also, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya drew inspiration from the Gita and gave the message of Antodaya.
The Governor said that the divine message of Bhagwad Gita given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra are still relevant today. He said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi also adopted the principles of the Bhagwad Gita and launched various schemes for the welfare of people and society. He urged the people to adopt the teachings of this holy book in their lives.
