Bhubaneswar/ 10th Jan- Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Literary Meet (TSBLM) to be held from 10-12 January 2020 aims to celebrate literature and allied cultural pursuits — dance, music, recitation, and theatrical performances over three power-packed days. The 5th edition of TSBLM 2020 aims to encourage the evolving literary community, promote a culture of patronage, and create value for the authors and other dignitaries. Bhubaneswar’s Malavika Banerjee, Director, Bhubaneswar Literary Meet, added, “Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Literary Meet (TSBLM) is a significant literary platform for all literature lovers in Odisha to celebrate their love for literature and exchange of ideas.
The meet is an opportunity to connect and engage with people across generations. In his keynote address, Lord Desai spoke about how recent developments across geographies are shaping the world as we stand at the cusp of the new decade. This was followed by a session of the translation of the seminal Odia book on the political emancipation of women, Basanti, by noted scholars of Odia culture Anant Mahapatra, Himansu Mohapatra, and Malabika Roy. but from across India and the world.
The event has grown from strength to strength, becoming an integral part of Bhubaneswar’s annual cultural calendar with a consistently high quality of participants and an inherent connection with local cultural ethos. I am sure this year’s edition will once again celebrate unexplored ideas and unstoppable voices.”In 2016, Gameplan had launched the Bhubaneswar Literary Meet, because a culturally rich region like Odisha needed a festival that would take Odisha to a wider world audience and bring the world to Odisha. From the very first year, the literary meet has drawn premier authors and speakers from across India and the world, having hosted eminent delegates such as Ruskin Bond, The day ended with an engaging performance by YouTube sensation and spoken word performer Priya Malik.
