Chandigarh/ February 24: Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya said that Haryana has now become the sports hub due to Haryana’s sports policy. Police forces have produced many talented players to the country, who have made the state and the country proud.
The Governor inaugurated the 68th All India Police Wrestling Group Competition at JC Vachher Stadium of Haryana Armed Police, Madhuban in district Karnal today.
Apart from that, the Governor congratulated the Haryana Police for this important event and said that the players of Haryana have earned a name in the country by their merit, Haryana has now become a sports hub. He also said that the Haryana Police has produced many international-level players who have also been honored out of which 49 players have been given government jobs by the State Government. Not only this, many players have been recruited to the police forces and many such players have become the pride of Haryana Police now, he added. Now the Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr. Sandeep Singh who has also been a famous hockey player holds the portfolio of the department.
The Governor said that the sporting events also boost the morale of police personnel and sports develop a sense of teamwork as well as a sense of devotion towards duty which is necessary for any task. Sport teaches discipline to the person and healthy body is inhabited by a healthy mind as health is the biggest wealth, he added. He further said that, along with sports, Haryana has surged forward in various fields such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Automobile Industries.
He said that the programs and schemes, run by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, have been effectively implemented by the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal in the state which has made Haryana the leading state in the country. He said that our daughters have also brought laurels to the country at the international level in sports and they have been also advancing in every other field. They are even protecting the country by joining the army. The Governor also said that the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Saabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ coined by the Prime Minister has put the country and Haryana on the path of progress.
Talking about the bravery of the police, the Governor said that the police play an important role in maintaining law and order. He further said that the police have to work under severe conditions and sports compepetions help them relieve stress that comes with their job.
The Governor further said that youth is the power of the country and said that they should respect their parents, teachers, birthplace, mother tongue, and culture.
Haryana Director General of Police, Mr. Manoj Yadava welcomed the Governor and informed that in the 5-day police sports competition, the participants will compete in wrestling, kabaddi, boxing, and bodybuilding. In this, 2232 players from 36 different states and union territories of the country of different ranks are participating. These include 1656 male and 576 female players. Arjuna Awardee Mr. Rajender Kumar administered the oath to all the players present.
At the conclusion of the program, students of DAV Police Public School presented a cultural program. There was a thrilling battle of tug-of-war between the officers of Madhuban Police Complex and the other teams from Haryana in which Madhuban officials were victorious.
