Chandigarh.21 January,2021:A preparatory review meeting in connection with the 72nd Republic Day celebrations held at the conference, UT guest house, today. Presiding over the meeting Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress pertaining to the implementation of programs of the ensuing 72nd Republic Day by maintaining COVID-19 protocols, social distancing, and wearing of masks in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the city.

The Deputy Commissioner said the ceremonial part of the celebrations will be held in a befitting manner.
The Tricolour will be hoisted by the Chief Guest followed by a march past by police contingents and address by the chief guest. Tableau display by various departments of the Chandigarh Administration was also being discussed. However, no cultural program involving school students will be organized, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar said.
He further said that all participants along with officials involved in the preparation of the program would have to undergo thermal scanning, besides maintaining social distancing and wearing of face mask. A public gathering will be 1/3 of the capacity of the venue, he said. The meeting was also attended by Sh. Kuljit Paul Singh Mahil, PCS, Assistant Deputy Commissioner, and other officers from civil and police administration.
