Chandigarh/ Faridabad/ 5 March 2020: With the objective to provide a platform for thought provoking discussions on Adopting Innovative Business Models for Energy Efficiency and drafting Action Plan to promote, encourage industry & buildings in Haryana CII, in association with HAREDA and BEE organised a one day Workshop on Leveraging Advantage of Mandatory Energy Audit for Haryana Industry & Commercial Building Sector at Faridabad here today.
The workshop aimed at spread awareness among Industries in Haryana the Importance of conducting energy audit, implement energy efficiency measures, adopt best practices and technology led solutions on Energy Efficiency. More than 100 industry delegates from in and around Faridabad region witnessed the workshop and learned the importance and ways to optimize their energy costs.
Mr Sukhchain Singh, Project Manager, Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) Government of Haryana, while addressing the audience during the Inaugural Session, said that with the technical workshop and programs like this, the Industry gets a chance to identify, deliberate and analyse new technologies / Technology providers and latest techniques of Energy Efficiency which has higher return on investment. This will not only aid to the pain areas of the Industry like higher costs, low profits, negative impact on environment but also will help in imparting knowledge and learning energy efficient solutions.
Mr. Raj Kumar Bhatia, Past Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Managing Director, Bony Polymers Pvt Ltd., addressed the participants on energy conservation measures and also highlighted about electricity pilferage by way of damaging and/or creating disturbances to the installed transmission lines. He gave a brief description on various renewable energy options apart from the conventional energy resources and also about the benefits of renewable energy resources. He shared the advantages of using energy- efficient appliances and importance of energy conservation.
In a move to address the state’s power security issues and increase energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy, the Haryana government has made it mandatory for Industry & Commercial Building Sector in Haryana to undergo Energy Audit. The Government is continuously spearheading the energy efficiency initiatives and schemes of national importance like Energy Conservation, Solar & Bio energy programs and it is the way forward to continue acting in this field with the aid from available ESCO’s, Energy Auditors and Energy Managers in the country.
CII has always been on the forefront for supporting the power reforms and the energy efficiency mission of the Government of India through its policy advocacy work as also by organizing various niche activities advocating energy security measures. CII under its energy management consulting services to industry & commercial buildings has done more than 1600+ Energy Audits which resulted in energy savings worth Rs. 3100 million till date.
