Chandigarh/ 22ND OCTOBER, 2019: Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Chandigarh, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, had organized French Linguistic Classes for its Hospitality students in collaboration with Alliance Francaise, Chandigarh. The proficiency course has added to the confidence of the students and has made them employable in the industry.
The course was specially designed for the hotel management students. It was spread over a period of fourty hours. Classes took place in the institute itself during the weekdays. The enrolled students had the opportunity to attend the classes at Alliance Franciase, Sector 36 over the weekends, where they would interact with other students studying there and the faculty which helped them to converse in a better way in the language and also widened their horizon in terms of learning.
The faculty of Alliance Francaise had shared various resources through which students could learn and practice French Language in their day to day lives. The Director of the Institute, Sylvain Chois himself has conducted all the classes. “The journey has been amazing and I am confident that I can live in France and make basic conversation, I will not be lost or confused as to what the other person would be saying”, says Udyalka Rai, a student of our Institute, who had enrolled for the course.
22 students, who had become a part of this course, will be appearing for the final test to receive the certification for the course.
It was the first time that the college had taken such an initiative and created history for itself! It was highly applauded by both the faculty of the Institute and the students.
