COVID – 19: Updates as on March 22, 2020

 

New Delhi: World Health Organization (WHO) has recently declared the Novel Corona virus, COVID-19 as Pandemic.
Till now it has affected 185 countries, infecting 267,013 people and caused 11,201 deaths. Most severely affected countries are China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany & U.K. Till date in India, it has infected 324 people including 41 foreign nationals and caused 5 deaths.
In order to contain the spread of the virus, Haryana Government has strengthened the surveillance and control measures against the disease.
The Detailed Status of Surveillance Activity for COVID-19 as on 22nd March, 2020 is as given below:
Cumulative number of passengers/ persons put on surveillance till date 7733
Cumulative number of passengers/ persons who have completed surveillance period of 28 days 616
Total no. of passengers/persons who are currently under surveillance 7117
Total number of passengers/person currently hospitalized 67
Total Number of Samples Sent 256
Total Number of Samples found Negative 132
Total number of samples found positive 12*
Total Number of Samples – Result Awaited 114
* Two samples taken at Delhi
Major Activities undertaken by the State of Haryana to control the spread of COVID – 19:

· State Helpline no. 8558893911 and 108 launched which are available for 24*7 days.
· The State has notified COVID- 19 and regulations has been issued on dated11.03.2020.
· All sort of gatherings of 20 or more people are banned till 31st March, 2020
