Deworming of Adolescent Girls & Children Under National Deworming Day Campaign

Odisha, Bhubaneshwar, Miss Debasree Dus Karan, 24/09/2020: National Deworming Day (NDD) aims to make all children in the age group of 1-19 years a step through the platforms of Anganwadis and schools. Children are worm free. The prevention of worm infection in children is one of the important interventions to prevent anemia in children and improve their health and nutritional status. The Nutrition Campaign has targeted anemia reduction in children and adolescents at 3% per year, leading to significant interventions for children, along with other health and nutritional work, towards targeting children. NDD is one of the best examples of convergence and coordination from the state level to the grassroots, in which the role and joint effort of 3As (Anganwadi workers + ASHA + ANM) are important to reach every child. The second round of NDD in Odisha is being celebrated in Odisha from 21 to 24 September, 2020, which is observing the month of nutrition. The first round was seen during February, 2020. Since, Anganwadi centers and schools are closed, Anganwadi has done and ASHAs left no stone unturned to reach the beneficiaries with all precautionary protocols. A lot of IEC activities are being done through various channels for awareness and information.
