District Level Literary Festivals in Haryana Colleges Soon!

Chandigarh/ February 18 – To develop reading habits among the youth, Haryana Higher Education Department has decided to organize “Literary Festivals” at the district-level.

The Literature Festival this year will be held at S.D. College, Panipat from March 17 to March 18, 2020. The Festival will be called “Akhil Haryana Yuva Sahitya Mahotsav” as students from all colleges and universities are participating in it.

Giving information on this, a spokesperson from the Education Department said that the Literature Festival will be an annual feature and will be organized in the lead college at the district level. He said that the colleges are requested to send two entries each in story writing and poetry writing by February 26, 2020. The entries are to be sent at email yuvaliteraturefestival@gmail.com.

He said that it has also been decided that two entries each in story writing and poetry writing will be invited from all colleges and universities of which the jury will shortlist 200 stories and 200 poems. These students along with their in-charges will be called for the literature fest for literary workshops and for interaction with the eminent authors.

It will be different from the Literary festivals that are being organized as here the audience and participants will be the student. He said that the students have an innate talent for expressing themselves through creative writing be it poetry or short story.

For this year, it has been decided to organize the Literature Festival at S.D. College, Panipat. The spokesperson said that there will be a book fair simultaneously which will commence on March 17 till March 22, 2020.
