Chandigarh: Dr. Rajiv Siwach has taken over as the Chief General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) of Punjab Regional Office and Chandigarh from 01st August 2020. He is a graduate in Agriculture from CCSHAU, Hisar, and has done a Ph.D. in Agriculture Economics from NDRI, Karnal.
Previously, Dr. Siwach has headed New Delhi RO and Haryana RO also. During his stint in Delhi, he has coordinated extensively with various ministries of Govt of India for framing modalities of LTIF, PMAY (G), Micro Irrigation Fund, Agriculture Marketing Infrastructure Fund to support the flagship programs of Govt. of India. In Haryana, he ensured the implementation of Micro Irrigation Fund and record support to Agriculture Marketing operations of the State.
He indicated that priorities of NABARD in the state would be supporting rural infrastructure through RIDF and other funds, strengthening of rural cooperative banks, computerization and transformation of PACS as MSC, organizing farmers into Farmers Producers Organisations (FPO), promotion of micro-enterprises through skill development of rural youth, credit intensification in rural areas through KCC, JLG and SHGs and support sustainable farming.
