Faridabad Police Arrested 3 Drug Peddlers under NDPS Act

Chandigarh, Dec 19 – In separate incidents, Haryana Police have arrested three persons on the charges of drug-peddling and seized 36-gram 10-milligram heroin, 20 kg doda post and 144-gram opium from their possession in Fatehabad, Karnal and Sirsa districts respectively.

          Stating this here today, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said that a team of Special Staff, Fatehabad during patrolling had spotted a suspicious person near the old bus stand Ratia, who try to run away after seeing the police. The team immediately nabbed him and when searched it had recovered 36 gram 10 milligram of heroin from his possession. The accused identified as Sindar Singh alias Janki, a resident of Pirawali, Hisar.

          In the second incident, a team of Anti Narcotic Cell, Karnal, had conducted a raid as soon as it got input about the drug peddler at Dera Sohan Singh Bangu in the village Augand area and arrested Manjit alias Dhanna on the charges of possessing 20 kg doda post. During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed that he had brought the seized contraband from an unidentified person from Guna railway station in Madhya Pradesh.

          In another case, Sirsa Police had arrested Ashok Kumar, a resident of Mangala after 144 grams of opium was recovered from his possession.

          He said that cases under the provisions of the NDPS Act were registered against them. They will be taken on remand by producing them in the Court so that the names of others involved in drug peddling could be unearthed.
