Chandigarh, October 29 – Haryana Health Minister Mr. Anil Vij has urged the Union Government to establish an institute of ‘Fire and Industrial Safety Management’ in Ambala Cantt. This centre will prove beneficial for employees as well as for the students of northern states in the country.
In a letter to Union Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh for this purpose, Mr. Vij said that a number of world famous industrial institutes like Maruti, Escort, Eicher, Hero, Honda, and Atlas have a strong base of manufacturing goods and products in Haryana. Apart from this, such kinds of institutes were also being operational in some neighboring states.
The Health Minister said that trained manpower in Fire and Industrial Safety Management discipline is required for these institutes. There is no such institute functional in Haryana or in neighbouring states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh where employees and fresh students could get facilities of training.
Mr. Vij said that employees and students of above states had to visit Nagpur in Maharashtra for this course which resulted in heavy expenditure as well as loss of time. There was need to open a Fire and Industrial Safety Management Institute in Ambala Cantt. This would help in imparting training to employees and students of northern states in relevant field.
