Government of India (GOI) has exempted goods for Covid relief imported into India from integrated tax

Chandigarh, May 8: The Government of India (GOI) has exempted goods for Covid relief imported into India from integrated tax in order to facilitate the flow of aid from outside the country. The exemption can be availed for such imports if they are sent free of cost from outside India and are distributed free within India. 

For claiming this exemption from tax, the entity can approach the nodal officer appointed by Chandigarh Administration. Any person who wants to send goods for Covid relief from outside India for free distribution in *Chandigarh* may contact the said officer.

Further, any person in *Chandigarh* who wants to import such free of cost goods for Covid relief can apply on the portal www.etdut.gov.in and once authorised can import such goods tax free.
