Chandigarh/ Panchkula: Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalayan,  a non-profit organisation under the presidentship of Rtr. Tanvi Pirramba organized an educational session under its campaign for Project ‘PANKH’  to ‘Hamari Kaksha’ in Shiv Kali Mandir, Sector 20, Panchkula. The main highlight was to educate on menstrual health and hygiene. The visit was organised by Rtr. Muskan Gandhi, the Head of project Pankh under the guidance of Rtr. Jayantika Jain and Rtr. Rupali Goyal. The session was taken by 15 volunteers and 30 students attended it.
The visit had various small segments which dealt with different sections of Menstrual Hygiene along with various fun segments. The event was kick started with a volunteer telling her personal story thus grasping the attention of those young girls. The event was then taken ahead by the explaination of what periods are. The seriousness of the topic was diluted by an easy handy “how to use and what is needed” activities by volunteers . The evening was signed off by a simple question-answers session to quail the thirsty minds.
This was a great initiative by the members of the club who look forward for spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene among the masses.
