Haryana Police Ordered Rs. 152 Crores to C-DAC for ERSS Project

Chandigarh/ Feb 07 – In a significant move, the Haryana Police today placed the order for Rs.152 crore for the Emergency Response and Support System (ERSS) Project with C-DAC (Central for Development of Advanced Computing) a Central Government PSU.

          A work order in this regard was handed over to the CEO of C-DAC Mr. Kalaiselvan by Mr. Arshinder Singh Chawla, Addl. DGP/IT & Telecom of Haryana Police in the presence of Haryana Home Minister Mr. Anil Vij and DGP, Haryana Mr. Manoj Yadava at a simple ceremony at Haryana Civil Secretariat today.  ADGP/CID Mr. Anil Rao, ADGP/Law & Order Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk, DIG/Administration (Project Officer 112) Mr. Satender Kumar Gupta and SP/IT Mrs. Manisha Choudhary were present on this occasion along with officials of C-DAC Mohali Center.

          Speaking to newsmen after the ceremony, Mr. Anil Vij, Home Minister Haryana informed that in addition to the payment of Rs. 152 crore being made to C-DAC, the Government of Haryana will be spending about Rs.90 crore on purchase of 630 new Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) which will be equipped with various emergency types of equipment.  He also informed that once the project is fully implemented, emergency police services will be available for every citizen of Haryana within 15 minutes of making a call to the Police Control Room in urban areas and within 30 minutes in rural areas of Haryana. The Home Minister also informed that Haryana Police has already constructed a state of the art building in Sector-1, Panchkula for housing the Emergency Response Centre (ERC) which will be the nerve center of the entire project.

                    The ERSS, also known as Dial 112 Project was envisaged by MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) which had tasked the C-DAC to prepare an advanced and user-friendly software for delivering a sophisticated unified emergency response system.

                  Mr. Manoj Yadava, Director General of Police, Haryana informed that the project will be fully operational soon.  He informed that the ERSS is most ambitious and advanced project which would transform the way in which citizens of Haryana will access not only to the police emergency services but also other emergency services such as fire-brigade and ambulance.
