Chandigarh, January 6: A memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be signed between Surajkund Mela Authority and British Council India on January 8, 2020, in the presence of Haryana Tourism Minister Mr. Kanwar Pal and Haryana Tourism Corporation Chairman, Mr. Randhir Singh Gollen.
While stating this here today, a spokesperson of the Tourism Department said that the event is organized every year in Faridabad district. The Surajkund Mela attracts more than one million tourists, including tourists from other countries.
The Mela is scheduled to be held from February 1 to February 16, where the rich culture, diverse handicrafts, handlooms and traditional fabric of India will be on display. The visitors of the mela will have experience of the diverse and rich Indian culture. The spokesperson also informed that the British Council of India will also be participating in the event and the visitors will get a glimpse of their culture as well.
He said an MOU is scheduled to be signed on January 8, 2020, between Surajkund Mela Authority and the British Council of India. The Vice-Chairman, Surajkund Mela Authority and Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Mr. Vijai Vardhan and Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation and Chief Administrator, Surajkund Mela Authority, Vikas Yadav will be present.
