Chandigarh/ 11 July 2019: Releasing on July 12, ‘Munda Hi Chahida’ , a film directed by Santosh Thite and Deepak Thappar, has been in the news right since the word go. Based on a unique and comic take on our Punjabi culture wherein generally, only the birth of a ‘baby boy’ is celebrated, this ‘Neeru Bajwa Entertainment’and Shri Narottam Ji films’ production stars Harish Verma and Rubina Bajwa in the lead.
Speaking about the film, the director Santosh Thite said, “In Munda Hi Chahida, the role of the husband during the time of his wife’s pregnancy, is the focus of the film. You will see Harish Verma carrying a test tube baby just for supporting his pregnant wife, played by Rubina Bajwa.”
Harish Verma, while addressing to the media, said, “At first, I was astonished at the kind of role offered to me by Thite ji. I had serious doubts whether I could play this strange character or not. But when I learnt the social impact that my role could make, I immediately said ‘Yes’. Thanks to Neeru Bajwa and both the directors for bringing out my best through this film.”
Rubina Bajwa added, “This is one of the most interesting yet hilarious film that I’ve done in my career so far. Working with Harish is always fun but this time the fun we had together, was at its all-time high. I am glad that I got a chance to work in ‘Munda Hi Chahida’, which will apart from entertaining our audience shall deliver a strong social message too.”
Munda Hi Chahida is produced by Neeru Bajwa, Ankit Vijan, Navdeep Narula, Gurjit Singh and Santosh Subhash Thite. On her production experience, Neeru shared, “Being a woman, I had serious aversion to our society’s obsession for a male child. I had always wanted to help and lift Punjabi women through whatever capacity I have as a filmmaker or an actor. I hope ‘Munda Hi Chahida’ will open our society’s eyes at the same time, entertaining them in full measure.”
Munda Hi Chahida’s music is also making it to the headlines these days. With five songs sung by Gurnam Bhullar, Roshan Prince, Mannat Noor, Kamal Khan and Jordan Sandhu and music by composers like, Gurmoh, Gurmeet Singh, and Gurcharan Singh, all the songs of Munda Hi Chahida are applause-worthy. ‘Kikkaran De Phul’ crooned by Mannat Noor is one of the most popular released so far, from this film.
