The Inaugurate BPCL’s LPG bottling plant at Odisha’s Balangir

Odisha/ Bolangir: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu’s visit to Balangir canceled due to bad weather; he was scheduled to inaugurate the LPG bottling plant & attend the Platinum jubilee celebration of Rajendra College in Balangir today. Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal on Friday dedicated the Bolangir LPG bottling plant to the nation in the presence of Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, State Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment and High Education Minister Arun Sahoo, Gratitude to the people of Balangir for being a part of this program despite the adverse weather conditions.
Dedicated BPCL Limited’s Bottling Plant to the nation along with Hon. Governor Odisha Shri Ganeshi Lal ji at Balangir today. With a capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year, this plant will cater to the need of clean cooking fuel for consumers in 14 districts of Odisha. This huge gathering is a testimony of people’s support and trust in Hon. PM Narendra Modi ji’s welfare program for the development of the Balangir district. Bolangir MP Sangeeta Singh Deo and local MLA Narasingha Mishra. Though Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu was scheduled to dedicate the plant he canceled his visit to western Odisha district due to heavy fog here.
The bottling plant set up for Rs 103 crore is the second one of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Before 2014, only 13 crores out of the 27 crore families in India and 20 lakh out of the 1 crore families in Odisha had LPG connections. In Balangir, just 40 thousand families have access to LPG, under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, this scenario has changed rapidly. a public sector undertaking under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry,
In the last 5 years, LPG has penetrated to approximately 95% of households in India. Out of the 1 crore families in Odisha, LPG has reached to over 80 lakh families, including the 3.5 lakhs LPG consumers in Balangir district. after Khurda.The plant located at Barkani, around 12 km from Bolangir railway station, with a capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year will supply LPG cylinders to the consumers in 14 districts of western and south-western part of the State – Bolangir, This new Bottling plant will cater to clean cooking fuel requirements of Balangir, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nowrangpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Raygada and Nuapada districts and further enhance availability of LPG. Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Nuapada.
Balangir LPG Bottling plant will also help create new opportunities for young entrepreneurs and provide direct & indirect employment opportunities for local youth. I thank PM Modi for his special focus on the development of Balangir, which is also an aspirational district.    Also, it urged people to come together for the identification of solutions to India’s challenges, bringing change and improving opportunities for the youths and people in the region to curb migration. The foundation stone of the Bolangir LPG bottling plant was laid on May 21, 2018, by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This plant has been completed in a record 19 months.
