Chandigarh, 9th October, 2019: The Chandigarh Housing Board organized a workshop on 09.10.2019 about the permitted Need Based Changes at Auditorium Hall, Govt. Museum & Art Gallery, Sector-10 Chandigarh. The objective of the workshop was to make the empanelled Architects and the empanelled Structure Engineers aware about the procedural aspects of the various clauses of the Need Based Changes order dated 15.02.2019 and the Penalty Scheme dated 15.07.2019. The workshop was attended by empanelled Architects, empanelled Structure Engineers and Office bearers of many of the Resident Welfare Association.
Shri Vimal Sharma, Architect of CHB made a presentation regarding the permitted Need Based Changes and the procedure for regularization of existing violations/permission for additional construction and charges payable for the same. A Question/Answer session was also held to clarify the queries of the participants.
At the outset of the workshop, the Chandigarh Housing Board made it clear that the mandate of the workshop was to clarify the procedural aspects of the Need Based Changes permitted vide order dated 15.02.2019 and the time-period allowed upto 31.12.2020 to rectify the violations subject to payment of prescribed penalty. However office bearers of some of the RWAs raised the issue of allowing more Need Based Changes which could not be taken up during the workshop.
It is expected that the effort of educating empanelled Architects, empanelled Structure Engineers and also the office bearers of RWAs will expedite the process of regularization of existing violations and permissions for fresh constructions with regard to the permitted Need Based Changes.
