27th Haryana State Level Youth Festival organized in Panchkula

Panchkula, December 30: Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh   Gian Chand Gupta described  youth as the back bone of the country and said that coming time belongs to the youth.  He said that Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal are committed for the welfare of youth and many steps has been taken in this direction.

Sh Gupta was addressing as Chief Guest in the prize distribution function of the 27th Haryana State Level Youth Festival organized by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department and District Administration, Panchkula at Jainendra Gurukul School Sector-1 here today.

Sh Gupta said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal, the youth in the State are being provided ample opportunities to display their talents in the fields of sports, education , culture etc at National and International level.  He said that during the last 7 years, the State Government has made several announcements to promote sports in the State in  a big way. Under the new Sports Policy, the prize money to the medal winning players of Haryana at National and International level has been increased manifold. While cash award of Rs 6 crore is given to the player winning gold medal in Olympics, Rs 4 crore is given to the winner of silver medal and Rs 2.5 crore for winning bronze medal. Apart from this, this time advance incentive of Rs 5 lakh was also provided to the players participating in the Olympics for the preparations.

Sh Gupta said besides sports, cultural programmes are also organized by the State Government to enable the young artists to exhibit their talent. It is a matter of pride that the youth of Haryana have won 25 national level competitions out of 27 competitions held so far. He said that it is the result of the policy of the State Government that large number of youth from all over the State has participated in the Haryana State Level Youth Festival.

Earlier, the Nodal Officer of the programme, Sh Anil Kaushik, welcomed Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta and gave information about the activities organized during the festival.

On this occasion, Sh Gupta honored the winning teams by presenting them trophies. Team from Rewari bagged the trophy of overall Champion while team from Ambala and Bhiwani got second and third position respectively.

Among those present on this occasion included District Sports Officer Amarjeet Singh, BJP’s District General Secretary Paramjit Kaur, Councilors Suresh Verma, Surekha, Rekha Sareen, Surendra Narwal, officers and coaches of Sports Department and youth from different districts of the State.
